The following presentation at the Olmec symposium in Austin last November
The Olmec and the Language of the Sacred:
Ritual Objects and Sacred Bundles in the
Middle Formative World
F. Kent Reilly III, Director, Center for the Arts and Symbolism of Ancient
America, Texas State University-
San Marcos
discussed the probility that the Cascahal block is an inventory of a sacred
bundle and if I recall correctly, he said it was probably used as a part of
a sacred ritual. There was no doubt in anyone present that it was a genuine
artifact of the Olmec culture.
I am sure if you contact kent that he will give the info to update the WIKI.
