In the St-Salvatorcathedral in Bruges, Belgium, in the chapel near the
entrance, stands a beautiful Gotic font, from the 16th century, with an
extraordinary astronomical specification.
At noon, during the equinoxen, when the Sun is shinning through the windows,
a light cross is projected, exactly in the middle of a circular wooden plate
above the font.
Above and fasten on the wooden plate, are two iron arches in an angle of
90°, and crosses each other in a right angle of the wooden plate.
The spring equinox was of great historical importance for the catholics for
the dertermination of Easter, on which tradionaly christians were baptized.
Therefore we have to return 17 centuries back into time to the Council of
Nicea in 325 AD.
There was stipulated when Easter would take place by well-kwon scientists
with enough astronomical knowledge. At the time of the Council the
astronomical spring took place on March 21. Before it was placed on March
25. At the Council the basic rule was defined that Easter would take place
on the first Sunday after the full Moon of March 21 or after.
Practically all catholic churches were build by the Freemasonry, who very
often added hidden clues in the buildings refering to astronomical bodies or
events.
For example the place of all the catholic churches in Bruges are build
according the constellation of the Great Bear.
