Dear Diane,

I'm the Director of Maya Exploration Center and we specialize in planning
educational travel courses of 1-2 weeks in the Mundo Maya. Maya
architecture is one of our favorite topics and I can guarantee that our
perspective will enlighten your students. Check out our website at
www.mayaexploration.org . We love running courses based in Merida because
Uxmal and Chichen Itza provide great examples for our colleague Christopher
Powell to explain the concepts of Ancient Maya Geometry. We have seven
years of experience organizing courses for college groups and a host of
references available upon request.

Regards, Ed

Subject: [Aztlan] Travel agency assistance

Hello all,

I am not a researcher in Mesoamerican or Latin American history, but I do
teach a course on 3 eras of architectural history in Mexico and Guatemala
(Pre Columbian, Spanish Colonial, and 20th Century Modern). I am looking
into taking approximately 15 undergraduate architecture students to the
Yucatan over -- yikes -- Spring Break or possibly early January before the
semester begins. I would like to be centered near Merida (also known as
"away from Cancun") as a home base for day trips. While I think I can
handle the content of the trip, I do need logistical help on the ground
with lodging and transportation. Can any one recommend a travel agency
that is geared towards the budget, college audience?

Thanks,
Diane Shaw
