[Aztlan] ? Article on repeating history?

There was an article some years ago on how parts of Mayan history
really did approach cyclicity at least for a couple of 260-year K'atun 
cycles,
similar events recurring in K'atuns with the same names.

I don't remember the author or title.   Might have been Ancient Mesoamarica,
or perhaps some other journal.
Can anyone help we with the reference?
