[Aztlan] Mesoamerican dental practices

Can one assume that having a well developed capability for modifying teeth; they also had a equally developed dentistry practice?
 
Are there any pictures of the drill?
 
Another question.  Dental work presumes a safe dental enviorment.  Whether pulling teeth or modifying them THAT is not a small process.  Do we have any indication of a dental operating theater?  Don't know about anybody here but the perfect cure for a dental problem is just to walk in the dental office.
 
What herbal combinations were used?  If they didn't work well you know.
What glues did they used.  Have replicas been created to test them.  Maybe they had gluse that held better than false teeth glues do today.
 
I mentioned a dental operation enviorment.  Can one imagine the shaman coming to the hut drill in hand to do his thing?

An INAH study of 2,500 pieces in the mutilated teeth collection  
maintained by INAH has confirmed that Mesoamericans had advanced  
techniques for altering teeth for cultural practices. Mesoamericans  
were carving, notching, perforating and placing precious stones into  
teeth far back in history. Most Mesoamerican cultures used these  
alterations and all classes in Mesoamerica did this. An obsidian drill  
was used for most of the dental work. The participants were given  
anesthetic beverages and adhesives were used to glue on jewels. The  
adhesives were made from a mixture of copal, herbs, crushed bones and  
mineral powder. The dental practices were precise and avoided contact  
with the tooth's pulp.
