As a musician, I can tell you that a small percentage of left hand guitarists invert the strings order in their instrument to fit their skillfull side; some of them simply inverty the instrument, and more people just play as they were "right handed".

In this case, percentages don´t fit, but still the left-handed condition determines the observed events. Don't know if it helps.
