Listeros estimados,
Speaking of the Ch'orti', I have a substantial number of educational/research linguistic publications that I acquired quite a few years ago in Jocotan that I no longer make any use of and would like to unload if anyone is interested. They include:
Metodo Moderno para Aprender el Idioma Chorti: Una Gramatica Pedagogica
Diccionario Chorti -- Projecto Linguistico Francisco Marroquin
Gramatica del Idioma Chorti-- Projecto Linguistico Francisco Marroquin
Leyenda Maya Chorti -- Projecto Linguistico Francisco Marroquin
As well as a number of educational texts designed to teach the language to Ch'orti' children developed by the Conalfa committee & Academia de las Lenguas Mayas de Guatemala (and mostly developed by Lucas Lopez de Rosa, former participant in the old Texas Maya Meetings):
Kanatalwa'r Ch'orti'
Uyejtz'una'r Kawojroner Ch'orti'
K'ulb'il Yol Twitz Paxil
Cuaderno de Trabajo en idioma Ch'orti'
+ bonus material (several local issues of Kayuxinr newsletter)
Also available, printed and bound copies of
Charles Widsom's 1950 Chorti-English dictionary +
Soren Wichmann's 1999 Chorti Morphological sketch
Make me an offer if you are interested. I would prefer to sell and ship them as a package.
Also, non-Chorti-specific material:
Barbara MacLeod's 1987 Epigrapher's Annotated Index to Cholan and Yucatecan Verb Morphology
Diccionario Chontal de Tabasco 1997 Summer Institute of Linguistics
Bricker et al's 1998 Dictionary of the Maya Language as Spoken in Hocoba, Yucatan
Back issues of Mexicon -- December 1998-June 2001 complete, plus June 1996, April & December 2002, April 2003.
And for the archaeologists in the crowd:
Final report of the 1987 Rio Azul project #5 (2000) complete with site map.
Again, make me an offer. I am moving and do not want to transport any more books than I have to, but price must be worth the effort of shipping. Please reply directly to me, not the list.
Muchisimas gracias a todos,
Scott Speal
