The image in question is from the jamb in the Temple of the Cross. One 
of the diagnostic traits of God L (the maternal grandfather of the hero 
twins) is an owl headdress which the TC deity is wearing. In contrast, 
Itzamnaaj (the paternal grandfather of the hero twins) wears a flower 
headdress with an ak'bal sign infixed in the center of the flower. It is 
the same headdress worn by Itzamnaaj's bird manifestation.
