Greetings all,

I am searching for the location of the archives for the "Institute of
Andean Research". I do not know if this organization still exists,
but I see a webpage where there was a board of directors meeting that
took place at Yale in 2006, so it might be at Yale, but I haven't been
able to verify that as of yet.

In order to clarify which "Andean" research organization that I am
referring to, it might help if I list its early members, etc.
According to correspondence I have from the Rockefeller Foundation,
dated 1947, Samuel Lothrop was chairman of its board in 1947 and other
members of the board at that time were Wendell Bennett and Gorden F.
Ekholm (he was the secretary-treasurer during this time). I also know
that A. V. Kidder was one of its chairs in 1949. I think that it was
formed in 1937, since there is a book by John Mason called "A brief
history of the Institute of Andean Research, Inc. 1937-1967." If
anyone knows where this Institute is located now, if it still exists,
and where its archives might be, I would greatly appreciate an email
from you, off-list please.

Thanks!
