The American Society for Ethnohistory (ASE) is holding its annual conference at the Hotel Monteleone here in New Orleans, from Wednesday, 9/30, through Saturday, 10/3.

The ASE promotes the interdisciplinary study of the history and culture of native peoples and traditional societies in the Americas, and the history of European colonialism in the New World.  The ASE publishes the journal Ethnohistory.

As you may know, Tulane University's departments of Art and Anthropology, the Deep South Regional Humanities Center, and the Stone Center for Latin American Studies are all among the sponsors of this year's conference, and many thanks to those groups for their support.
