Since the moderators are allowing annoucements of books on 2012 as long as they contain new discoveries in real archaeology, I'll announce the impending release of my book The 2012 Story (Tarcher/Penguin, 478 pages, 25 illus.), on October 15. It contains late breaking scholarship on the archaeological monuments and inscriptions of Tortuguero, Copan, and other sites. It also contains a summary of the events of the academic 2012 conference at Tulane University this past February. The book's webpage is http://www.the2012story.com.

In the interest of organizing and providing an open venue for various academic debates that have arisen around the 2012 topic, I've also initiated The Center for 2012 Studies (just getting started) and to summarize the vast misconceptions in the mass media and elsewhere I've launched the online resource: http://Update2012.com.
