Very good write-up from the Salt Lake City Tribune. Thanks for sharing it.
FYI - The article makes reference to Monument Six (Tortuguero). "It's
unique in that the remaining parts contain the equivalent of the date
2012. The inscription describes something that is supposed to occur in
2012 involving Bolon Yokte, a mysterious Mayan god associated with
both war and creation."
David Stuart and Stephen Houston have posted recent blogs that
question the validity of their original translation of this monument.
It is a very damaged and hard to read monument.
