Listeros,
INAH archaeologists have found 1000 year old dwellings in caves at Barranca de la Sinforosa (Sinforosa Gully), Chihuahua. They were probably inhabited by Tubar people, an isolated group in the Tarahumara mountain range. They were extinguished as a people in the 19th century. Their cave abodes are similar to the cliff dwellings of the Ancient Southwest. 5 individuals have been uncovered dating from 1000-1450 CE. They were wrapped in vegetable fiber matting held by wooden needles. Ceramics and gourds were also found. The historical era Tubar people fled back to these mountains to resist Spanish conquest and evangelization.
