[Aztlan] Votan and Palenque

One thing that remains a little unclear to me is the nature of Na Chan.  Karen in the original post mentions that it was at the base of the Tumbala mountains and calls it a "town", but the Wikipedia article on Votan calls it a "kingdom".  Would one term be more correct than the other, or is the distinction vauge?  Is the site of Na Chan known, or is our knowledge of it based purely on myth?
