about Mesoamerican religion I have stumbled on references toHunabkú,
a maya God (supposedly the supreme one) documented primarily in theChilam
Balam de Chumayel and in the dictionary of Motul, who has apparentlybeen
appropriated by New Agers. In the only serious references to this godit
is commented that "this god seems to have been invented by monks in
orderto further the conversion of the mayas to monotheistic
christianity". Myquestion is are there any published papers
presenting this argument?Magnus Pharao HansenExternal

That's about the just of the info I have come across. From wikipedia: "New Age
beliefs about Hunab Ku derive from the work of Mexican author Domingo
Martínez Parédez, who first presented his interpretation of the concept
in 1953..."

Off the top of my head... was the calendar round not called a hunab?
