Eduardo Matos Moctezuma, the famed Mexican archaeologist, will present new findings on Teotihuacan at the upcoming Frankfort Book Fair. They will be published in his new book on Teotihuacan.

He says that the fall of Teotihuacan was due to an alliance of indigenous people against their subjugation by Teotihuacan. He believes that Teotihuacan rose to prominence as a result of the many springs which allowed channeling of water for an agricultural surplus. In many Teotihuacan murals, the springs are spiritualized. The rebellion which destroyed Teotihuacan was due to the way in which Teotihuacan extracted onerous tributes from its surrounding populations.
