el culto de la muerte se da tambien en europa en la epoca del oscurantismo,conocido como "la buena muerte" ,los grandes problemas de mortandad en europa sobre todo la peste, la guerra ,hacia que la gente pensara en el buen morir y se crearon iglesias dedicadas a este culto ;en la epoca de la conquista,logicamente chocara con el culto de la muerte en mesoamerica y se transformara como el culto a la santisima muerte. osea es una simbiosis que persiste hasta el dia de hoy.es logico que tenga su iglesia y sobretodo se le den ofrendas y se adapte a las diferentes formas de pensar del dia de hoy y logicamente el mexico antiguo tenia estos rituales.

An account by a woman named Juana, who is a citizen of the area, describes the appearance of a white robed, skull face, Virgin Mary materializing at this cave. Today this shrine is still venerated with a tree cross placed at its mouth, to which corn tassels, ears of corn, flowers, sacrificial birds, candles, coins, and food are offered on ritual occasions. The Mixtec buried their dead in caves for many centuri!
