Just two quick questions:

>Much more likely is that Venus is simply allocated an ideal day
>in central Mexico whose day name is associated with "beginning",
>since "1 Alligator" is the first day of the 260-day cycle.
So, Cipactli is associated with "beginning" since it's the first day of the
calendar cycle?
>From Karen:

> characterize the 1 Ajaw start date of the Dresden Venus table as the
> "ideal" day for the first appearance of Venus as morning star, but
> rather it is the mythological start date.
I know CHUM is used in regards to the seating of a new month. Is it also
used (or is there a similar concept) in the seating of a new year? What
about in the seating of a new era (i.e., mythological start date)? Do these
cycles have a patron god who is seated at the beginning of the cycle? Or do
only months have such a god?
