Los once ejemplos siguientes están dirigidos a un público de varones jóvenes, cech mehene,⁷⁴  tú que eres un joven, probablemente por un maestro de los alumnos en una de las escuelas que fueron establecidas por los franciscanos durante el primer período de la evangelización. Todos fueron bien elegidos para entretener, así como para edificar. El autor crea conversaciones entre humanos y demonios, ángeles y fantasmas que regresaron de más allá de la muerte. Hay detalles espeluznantes que dan vida a las narraciones didácticas. Un guerrero es completamente destrozado por bestias salvajes como castigo por haber fallado en el cumplimiento del último testamento de su camarada. Unos jóvenes que fueron arrojados dentro de un horno encendido salen ilesos gracias a la protección de Dios. Una madre heroica mira cómo le cortan la lengua y la mano a uno de sus hijos, mientras otro es desollado, y así y todo da aliento a los hijos que sobreviven a que se resistan a una orden de comer puerco. Una mujer es visitada por el espíritu de una vieja amiga que reaparece con su rostro en llamas y le revela que mora en el infierno por una falta a la castidad en su juventud que no confesó, si bien las apariencias externas mostraban que como adulta, llevó una vida de devoción. San José, hijo de Jacob, es falsamente acusado por el amo de su esposa de un atentado contra su virtud, y hecho prisionero por este crimen.

Algunas de las narraciones tienen que ver con cuestiones de orden legal y moral, como por ejemplo no haber cumplido con la implementación de los recaudos de un testamento y el haber brindado falso testimonio. Tal vez el caso más interesante sea el ejemplo titulado Como persiguen los demonios a los castos (ms. pág. 343). Un no creyente se encuentra viajando al caer la noche; entonces busca refugio en hunppel na heklay yotoch kuob cuchi ti ma ococ uinic ti christianoyle, una casa que era el hogar de las deidades antiguamente, antes que la gente abrazara el cristianismo. Mientras yacía allí, simulando dormir, el viajero fue testigo de una reunión de diablos que le rinden cuentas a su líder de las actividades que realizaron entre los hombres. Considerado el más exitoso entre los diablos, hay uno que cuenta acerca de cómo es que persiguió al halach uinic Obispo uay tu cuch cahal loe, el funcionario, el Obispo, el que está a cargo aquí en el pueblo. El diablo ha conseguido tentar al Obispo para que toque con sus manos a una mujer que prepara la comida en su casa. El diablo jefe felicita a este adlátere, y lo incita a que complete su trabajo, yoklal hach ci tin cal ca a payab u beel halach uinic ti kebane, "porque le resulta muy dulce a mi gaznate cuando ustedes hacen caer a un halach uinic en el pecado." A esta altura, los demonios se percatan de la presencia del viajero e intentan echarlo fuera, lo que no consiguen porque éste hace la señal de la cruz, aun cuando no es cristiano. Más tarde, el viajero denuncia al Obispo ante un juez eclesiástico. Al principio el Obispo niega el cargo de inmoralidad, pero cuando el viajero relata su experiencia con los diablos, el Obispo confiesa, se arrepiente, y desaloja a la mujer de su casa. El viajero se convierte al cristianismo y es bautizado por el obispo. Dos moralejas se rescatan al final de la historia. Primero, "fíjate cuánto le interesa al diablo seducir a los líderes y a los funcionarios, porque si él hace que caigan en pecado, muy pronto el resto de la comunidad le seguirá." Segundo, "las mujeres son como una chispa de fuego que inflama el corazón de los hombres; las mujeres son la carnada con la que pesca el diablo."

Mientras que estos ejemplos son similares al material de los Discursos predicables de Coronel, ninguno de los textos parece ser una copia estricta del otro. No todos los ejemplos publicados por Coronel aparecen en este manuscrito, aunque las páginas faltantes no permiten tener la certeza de cuáles pueden haber estado incluidas originalmente. En un caso, el orden de dos narraciones aparece revertido. Aquí ha habido trabajo de corrección. En el ejemplo titulado Como son grandes las penas del purgatorio (ms. pág. 331), un ángel le ofrece a un moribundo la elección entre un año de sufrimiento en la tierra y un día en el Purgatorio. El hombre prueba con el Purgatorio, pero se queja con el ángel de que un día allí parece como yaab u katunil, muchas veintenas de años. La última línea describe los sufrimientos del Purgatorio como insoportables, ma mukbentzil u numya. Coronel omite esta línea, tal vez por considerarla no ortodoxa. Otras correcciones alteran la estructura poética, más bien que el contenido. Una descripción de los jóvenes que sobreviven al horno ardiente, ti mayx eli u mexob y. mayx eli u tzotzelob, sin que se le abrasen sus barbas y sin que se le abrasen los cabellos, queda reducida por Coronel a ti ma eli u mexob y. u tzotzelob, interrumpiendo la segunda mitad de la copla y eliminando la aliteración. La relación entre este manuscrito y los trabajos publicados por Coronel amerita ulteriores estudios.

(1)   Otro exemplo contra los mismos (200v-201r). Cuando una mujer confiesa ante los ojos de un siervo de Dios, gran cantidad de ranas salen de su boca, y luego vuelven a quedarse llenando su boca nuevamente. Cuando él pide una explicación de lo que ha visto, la mujer entiende que cuando ella confiesa un pecado, las ranas aparecen, pero cuando ella oculta un pecado portal, todas vuelven a quedarse llenándola. Entonces le hace una confesión completa al sacerdote.

(2)   Contra los que no hazen justicia por temor (201r-201v). Los judíos llevan a Cristo ante Pilatos, pidiendo su ejecución. Pilatos se da cuenta de que Cristo está libre de culpa, pero los judíos amenazan con acusar a Pilatos ante el César, haciéndole perder su cargo, si no hace la voluntad de ellos. Se hace un paralelo con miembros de la audiencia, bechi u lobol Pilato cech. Batabe cech tupil, aquellos que tienen cargos públicos como los batab o los tupil y hacen daño, como Pilatos, al ocultar las presiones de sus electores en lugar de administrar justicia.

(3)   Como vive el hombre, asi muere (201v-202r). Este ejemplo falta parcialmente en el texto. Sólo la última parte, que comienza con lic yubicob cuchi, aparece en la pág. 346 del ms. La historia, que se dice fue tomada de los escritos de San Gregorio, cuenta acerca de un cristiano caído que siente que está siendo mordido y maltratado por animales salvajes mientras muere. Los sacerdotes, que no pueden ver a los animales, se atemorizan y le indican al hombre que haga la señal de la cruz. El moribundo no puede hacerlo porque uno de los que le muerden le mantiene su mano clavada. Los sacerdotes comienzan a rezar, con muchas lágrimas, y Dios libera al hombre de la bestia salvaje, que es el demonio.

(4)   Contra los que dilatan la penitencia, y su castigo (202r-203r). Cuando Dios decide destruir la tierra con una inundación, desea salvar a Noé por sus costumbres temerosas de Dios, y le indica que construya un gran barco. Noé no oculta el hecho de que está construyendo un bote, y a aquellos que obran mal se les da mucho tiempo para arrepentirse, puesto que la construcción del barco se tarda hokal haab yetel yab kin, cien años y muchos días. Sin embargo, los pecadores no se conmueven con los sermones de Noé, y comienza a llover. Sólo Noé y su familia, vaxactul ti pakte, los ocho juntos, salen del bote cuando la inundación llega a su fin para restablecer la especie humana sobre la tierra. Véase Génesis capítulos 6 y 7, y Pedro II, 2:5.

(5)   Como ayuda Dios a los que le llaman, y se fian Del (203r-204r). Otra historia de una falsa acusación, y cómo un fucionario da su conformidad por miedo. Unos enemigos denuncian a Daniel ante el rey de Babilonia. Después de ser amenazado, el rey entrega a Daniel a sus acusadores, quienes lo arrojan en la guarida de los leones, con uucpok hach tachiachob ti coh, siete leones verdaderamente feroces. (1)   Como libra Dios a los que estan sin culpa (205v-206r). La historia de Susana, de un apéndice deutero-canónico del libro de Daniel, capítulo 13. Dos ancianos sienten lujuria por la digna y hermosa Susana. Cuando ella los rechaza, ellos la acusan falsamente y es condenada a ser lapidada. El profeta Daniel defiende a Susana, y atrapa a los hombres dando un testimonio incongruente: uno dice ti yan yalan u cheel limon, mientras que el otro dice ti yalan u cheel pino cuchie. Gracias a su fe en Dios, Susana no teme. Así libra Dios de sus acusadores a quienes confían en Él.

(2)   Como los trabajos nos llevan a Dios (206v-208r). Esta es la historia de la conversión de Saul en Pablo, de un hombre que era enemigo de los cristianos pero que se tornó un santo después de que Dios se enfadó con él y lo arrojó de su caballo.

(3)   Como da Dios trabajos a los que ama, y de la Misericordia (208r-209v). Durante una época en que Israel fue sometida a la esclavitud por sus enemigos, Tobías realizó actos de misericordia y enseñó a sus hijos a hacer lo mismo. Sin embargo, Dios quiso ponerlo a prueba y lo dejó ciego causándolo gran sufrimiento. Tobías continuó dando gracias a Dios, y así Dios envió a un ángel para que lo sanara. El ángel apareció con forma de persona, y Tobías se preocupó por cómo compensarlo por su ayuda. (4)   Como ayuda Dios a los que guardan sus mandamientos (209r-210v). Del libro deutero-canónico de Judith, la historia del decapitamiento de Holofernes por Judith. Siendo un capitán a las órdenes del arrogante rey Nabucodonosor, Holofernes avanza con sus conquistas por todas partes. Un consejero le advierte que Dios proteje al pueblo de Betulia, que Él los rescató del faraón y ahogó a sus enemigos, en el pasado. Holofernes se enfada, y con gran arrogancia ataca Betulia, donde es degollado y su ejército aplastado. En una forma inusual de volver a contar esta historia, el ejemplo está centrado en la arrogancia de Holofernes y en el diálogo con su consejero, mientras que al decapitamiento en sí mismo sólo se le ha dedicado una frase.

(5)   Como es Dios benigno con el pecador, que se enmienda (210r-210v). Una adúltera iba a ser lapidada por los judíos, cuando Cristo dijo, mac u ka teex ixma kebane lay bin yam chinic chuplal loe, "Aquel que esté libre de pecado, que arroje la primera piedra a la mujer." Al darse cuenta de que sus pecados secretos eran visibles para Cristo, los acusadores se fueron. La mujer queda sola con Cristo quien le dice que se vaya, y que no vuelva a pecar. Del Evangelio de Juan 8:1-12.

(6)   Como aborrece Dios la desesperacion, y no confesar la verdad (210v-211v). La historia de Caín y Abel. Caín no sólo asesina a su hermano, sino que desafía a Dios cuando Él le pregunta dónde está Abel, diciendole tab ua yan ten ua yah cananul ti Abeel, "dondequiera que esté, ¿es que soy ahora el guardián de Abel?." Por esto, Dios maldice a Caín diciéndole que sus cultivos nunca darán frutos. Véase Génesis 4:8-13. Sin embargo, no importa lo grande que pueda ser el pecado de una persona, Dios habrá de perdonar a aquellos que buscan Su misericordia y hacen una confesión completa.

(7)   Como aborrece Dios la soberbia (211v-212r). El arrogante rey Nabucodonosor no reconoce que sus bendiciones provienen de la mano de Dios. El profeta Daniel advierte al rey del enojo de Dios, y le aconseja que haga regalos a los pobres. Cuando el rey persiste en su orgullo, Dios le quita su reino y lo manda a vagar por el desierto como una bestia vvcten ti hab. En la versión bíblica, Daniel 4:13, "y serás alejado de entre los hombres, y tu morada será con las bestias del campo; y habrás de comer hierba como un buey; y siete veces pasarán sobre ti, hasta que hayas aprendido que el Más Alto gobierna el reino de los hombres y se lo da a quién él desee." Dios reaviva el entendimiento de Nabucodonosor, y así ya no es más como una bestia y comprende su insignificancia y el poder de Dios.

Entonces Dios quiso liberarlo del poder de esa bestia, que es el demonio.

For this reason he began to reform his ways and make himself diligent in his Christianity.
Por esta razón él comenzó a modificar sus costumbres y se hizo diligente en su cristianismo.

Un ejemplo final aparece en los Discursos predicables de Coronel, que no está presente en el texto. Como persigue el demonios a los que huyen del (214v-215r) ilustra con cuánto celo el demonio persigue al devoto, en tanto ignora a aquellos que ya están a su servicio. Un ángel conduce a un hombre a la casa de los sacerdotes, donde se han juntado muchas moscas que vuelan en enjambre alrededor de ellos. Según el ángel, las moscas son demonios que atormentan a los sacerdotes y ponen a prueba su resistencia. A continuación el hombre visita un pueblo grande donde hay un demonio escondido en un nicho sobre la puerta de entrada. El ángel explica que este demonio no tiene nada que hacer, porque sus tentaciones no sirven para nada en una comunidad que ya ha sido corrompida.
