En la continuación de las enseñanzas sobre la sabiduría, siguiendo los pasajes bíblicos de Isaías y Ezequiel, el autor retoma el tema de Hun Ahau como fuente de falsa sabiduría, tanto en la tierra como en el cielo. Instala la discusión en el plano humano, en el engaño de Eva. Los pecados originales de Eva y Adán condenan a toda la humanidad a la muerte, sin esperanza alguna de redención, de no haber sido por la encarnación de Cristo y su intervención ante Su padre.
Con una estructura similar a la primera enseñanza de la sabiduría, el pasaje cita a los padres de la Iglesia, pero también invoca a la imaginería maya. Las aves de presa, coot y hun kuk, representan a aquellos que tienen una falsa sabiduría, los que destruyen a los menos fuertes entre las criaturas de su misma especie. El autor plantea que el hombre posee una habilidad innata para distinguir la sabiduría verdadera de la falsa, y retoma la metáfora del olor. Las abejas, por ejemplo, desprenden olores fétidos, y sin demora se trasladan a una nueva colmena a fin de evitarlos. Ellas dependen de cux ol, criterio o instinto, para saber qué las alimenta y qué las pone en peligro. Por lo tanto cuánto más grande será el hombre, no sólo con cux ol, sino también con pixan, el alma, y naat, el entendimiento. El autor recomienda la observación de las hormigas, quienes acumulan su alimento durante la estación seca, para que esté listo en la época del xaman caan chaac, las frías lluvias de invierno. De igual modo el hombre debería acumular alimento espiritual durante si vida en la tierra, para así prepararse para el mundo que vendrá.
Por último el autor ensalza los beneficios de las Sagradas Escrituras. Las Sagradas Escrituras son comparadas con un río, que puede ser vadeado por ovejitas que representan a los humildes, pero que ahogan al ganado de gran tamaño y al venado, el arrogante. El acceso a textos sagrados escritos fue tema de encendidos debates en el corazón de la Iglesia, durante la época colonial. El autor asume una postura radical, cuando dice, "Porque a todo aquel que desee leerlas, habiendo en verdad puesto su corazón en ello, ni una sola cosa en el mismo ha sido ocultada" (ms. pág. 148).
