El autor traduce al maya los argumentos tradicionales del dios cristiano que es a la vez la sola y única deidad, sin principio ni fin, pero que al mismo tiempo consiste de tres diferentes "personas". Sólo Dios es perfecto, y Dios solo puede juzgar, sin estar aliado con ningún otro ser. El énfasis sobre este punto puede ser significativo en el contexto de los juicios por idolatría que condujo Diego de Landa en 1562, en los que los mayas eran torturados hasta que confesaban, para ser luego condenados a crueles castigos. Hablando de los idólatras que perdieron la fe en el único Dios y tornaron a la adoración de muchos dioses, el autor pregunta, "¿Qué hay de esos esclavos del diablo, aterrorizados y temblando, advertidos de que no está lejano el día en que el severo juicio de Dios caiga sobre ellos?"
